Focus Group

In order to get a reaction and response of my audience about my music video, I decided to gather a small group of people from my boarding house and we watched the music video. Then, I decided to ask them some general questions to understand what we did right and what could have been done better.

What they liked:

-Everyone enjoyed the beginning of the music video and the VHS filter

-They liked the variety of settings

-Liked the concept of the digipak and the pictures taken and how it was simplistic

-It conveyed the genre

-They liked that I included props such as the instruments

Suggestions:

-Play around with colour filters to get that desaturated colour palette

-Use some editing effects (black screens, fading in and out)

-More variety of post on the instagram account and maybe Instagram stories

-Some of the shots were not proper close ups (the one in which he is singing and the camera is focused on his mouth)

I decided to look at some of the suggestions they made and talk about it in my director's commentary!
